Hyslop says to Irvine that the Computer Games and Creative industries were not well reflected in the study at the time of the study. Further on, she explained that the government has identified the potential misalignment of industrial topography and national statistics were largely based on some data that was carried out by National Statistics.
She further highlighted that the Digital and Audio Visual industries were the most relevant sectors and included Industrial Standard Classification codes under Software, Electronic and Computer Games Publishing. She said that this revealed £1B gross value and also offered over 19,000 jobs. Further on, Hyslop says that the government recognizes an overlap between the two domains and that they are working on identifying the exact number of jobs created by each sector.
