Skyrim: Dawnguard Review

If you are a fan of fantasy games then this season the ultimate fantasy game has got to be Skyrim. This is a game that has a rating tagged Mature. The synopsis of this game has two sub plots: the first subplot involves the player casting his lot with the vampire fighters known as the Dawnguard or one could simply elect to fight against them. What is interesting though is that the training that is needed for you to navigate through the game is administered by the vampire fighters. The side that you decide to pitch for obviously determines how fast paced a game you have- for those who go against the vampire fighters the action starts almost immediately. For those who go with the Dawnguard, matters take a bit longer to build up. The battles however on both ends can simply be described as breathe taking.

The second half of the game unveils to the player the vampire element that is in the game. This element is obvious from the background of bats, and skeletons that form the stage of most battles. A player in the later stages of the game also has the advantage of ensuring that he can turn into a vampire of sorts. The averages play time (irrespective of which side of the divide that one is in) stands at some 8 hours. The negatives that this game draws in its direction are that, for one, it has some weird markings on the map that might impede a player’s progress. Secondly there are one or two technical quirks but their presence is subtle.

How Violence in Computer Games Can Be a Good Thing

It is weird that the violence that we are all against is much needed whenever it comes to computer games. This is after many of computer games developers concur that the way violence is portrayed in computer games is not awful at all.

In addition, many computer game developers who work for big computer Games Company, has maintained that the way violence is portrayed in computer games, doesn’t advocate for violence and self destruction. This is contrary to many people thinking that, violence is all about destruction with that of computer games not been an exception.  For instance, the way violence is depicted in the newly developed computer game, New Tomb Raider Game, is very different from the way it is portrayed in other types of computer games.  In this game, violence is not portrayed as the massive destruction and aggression which is evident in other types of computer games.

The other advantage of violent video games that many people are yet to discover is that violent video games can instill hand-eye coordination in their players. This is partly due to the fact that, majority of them involves players shooting at animated characters that are running and shooting at the same time. This therefore calls for the players to concentrate on shooting the target, something that helps in improving their eye-hand coordination overtime.

The other goodness that is attributed to violent computer games is that, they help in improving the estimation skills of those that are accustomed to playing them. This is also due to the fact that, many of these games involve aiming to shoot or kill a particular target.  This therefore calls for one to have estimation skills at their disposal. Upon playing these games for along time, one would be surprised at how they have improved their estimation skills.

Creativity is the other benefit that is linked with violent computer games. Study has revealed that, kids who are used to playing various violent computer games were subject to having more creativity as opposed to those kids that are yet to learn these computer games.
