
It was at the second Beijing International Film Festival – BIFF, where contracts worth more than 837 million dollars were signed.
The event bought together prominent actors among them, the Director of Hollywood, James Cameron. Gracing the event were a collection of films, from 54 different nations. To mark the end of this event, attendants were treated to a series of live performances from prominent musicians and music groups, who hail from different parts of the world.
While announcing the event as a success, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Radio, Television and Film Director, Li Chunliang noted that more was still needed to be done so as to promote such events and the Chinese film industry.

Chunliang, further noted that through such events, BIFF was creating a platform through which the public can exchange ideas on the way forward for their country’s film industry. Cameron on his part was categorical that the event marked a historical moment in the movie and film industry. He further announced that he will partner with Vince Pace’s company-a prominent photographer, to set up a 3D company in China, with its headquarters located in Tianjin.
According to the two , the move shall serve to promote that use of technologies among the Chinese movie makers and the entire film industry. This will further bring competition in the global movie and film making industries, a trend that is anticipated to result to a rise in the quality of movies . All speakers present during the event noted that competition was the key towards getting quality movies that will appeal to global audience.
They further thanked the government for offering subsidiaries in the country’s movie and film industry, naming the creation of theaters in majority of the country’s suburbs as one among the many subsidiaries that the government has introduced.
With such events being held annually, the Chinese and global film and movie industry is set to experience a robust growth.
